Our training has developed over more than forty years. The two chief instructors have over 80 years of experience between them.
Children aged 5 and up
Classes are designed to be fun as well as teaching students a Japanese Martial Art in a traditional manner. We are able to split the classes so that complete beginners do not feel out of place when they start training.
We do not give away Black Belts lightly — parents and students should be prepared for many years of dedication if that is their goal. We believe this dedication itself is part of the reward.
Occasionally we will allow 4-year-olds to train if they can cope with the class — please get in touch to discuss.
Adults of all ages & abilities
We hold our adult classes separately to the children's classes. We strongly believe the training methodology is different for children and adults, and we find we get better results because of this.
Parents of children are welcome — and encouraged — to train in the adult class. This can help you support your children at home and share in their journey.
Adults start from complete beginners and progress through the grading system at their own pace. All are welcome.
